Our journey took us through the narrow, winding paths of the village, where fishermen expertly repaired their nets and prepared for another day on the lake. We saw the fish, freshly caught and gleaming in the morning sun, but also witnessed the heartbreaking sight of spoilage. Fish, once a prized catch, now lay rotting on the ground, a victim of poor post-harvest handling methods.
The current fish drying method, relying on the open sun, was a far cry from the efficient and sanitary practices we had seen elsewhere.
